GOOD WATERS - GOURETTE

From Pau, take the direction of the Ossau valley, the Aubisque pass. Go through Laruns and continue towards Spain. On leaving the village at the crossroads, take the road on the left towards Eaux-Bonnes and Gourette. To access the station, 2 solutions: either park in the free parking lot in Ley and take the free cable car 1.7 km downstream, or arrive at the station and find a paid parking lot.

Frozen lake

At the exit of the Bézou cable car, walk alongside the mountain restaurant, the Cairn: the terminal indicating the start of the snowshoe circuit is located at the old arrival point of the carpet

The avalanche corridor

The walk continues by quickly entering a wood where the path winds. A little further, the circuit forms a wide loop to the left, in order to avoid an avalanche corridor indicated by a sign

The top

The path will gradually come out of the woods, opening the view towards two summits, the peak of Ger on the right, recognizable by its large sloping slabs, and the Medaa bolt on the left. When you arrive in view of the green slopes, the snowshoe circuit offers a round trip to a small summit, which offers a beautiful panorama of this 14 hectare plateau called the Bezou plateau.
