Mountain refuge at the foot of Pic Palas, bordered by the Arrémoulit lakes and close to Lake Artouste.

Closed in 2023.
Located in the Pyrénées Atlantiques in the mountain area of ​​the Béarn region in the heart of the Ossau Valley, this high altitude refuge is accessible by hiking.
1h30 climb from the Artouste dam (access by the little train), 3h from the Caillou de Socques (route du Pourtalet) and around 1 day from the Pombie, Ayous, Migouélou, Larribet, Respumoso or Marcadau refuges.
Possible ascents of the Arriel, Palas or Balaïtous peaks and stopover on numerous high-hiking routes (HRP, Palas tour, Balaïtous tour, etc.)

All sanitary measures are applied in the establishment.

Access condition

Reach Pau (Pyrénées Atlantiques), follow direction Zaragoza to Gan then take the D 934, direction Laruns, Gourette, Spain (Col du Pourtalet), Col d'Aubisque until the Laruns exit then follow direction Col du Pourtalet until 'at the start of the hike.
