GOURETTE OPEN RIDE
Day 1: OPEN MTB (Timed Downhill)
Day 2: Chill and Ride (Various workshops…)

To participate in the OPEN RIDE, registration for Saturday's race is mandatory. As a reward for your participation, you'll receive a free day at the Bike Park on Sunday to extend your weekend.

Article 1 – Organization

This mountain biking event is organised by EPSA, in collaboration with its partners, from the Gourette resort during the summer of 2026.
The first day is dedicated to a timed downhill race, the second day will be devoted to refining technique with various specific driving workshops and others (equipment, trajectories, braking, banked turns, emergency first aid, etc.)

Article 2 - Conditions of participation

  • The competition is open to participants aged 16 years minimum (Parental authorization required for minors).
  • All participants acknowledge having read these regulations and undertakes to respect it without reservation.
  • Each competitor must be in good physical condition and suitable for mountain biking in a mountain environment.
  • Participants must ensure they have liability and personal insurance for mountain biking. An FFC license is recommended. A copy of their license will be required. If you do not have one, please complete and sign the health questionnaire and submit it when you collect your race bib. Document available via the link here

Article 3 – Equipment

3.1 – Authorized Equipment

  • Downhill, enduro, or all-mountain mountain biking
  • Electric mountain bikes allowed

3.2 – Mandatory equipment

  • Full-face helmet required
  • Gloves required
  • Mandatory protective gear: knee pads, back protector (elbow pads recommended)
  • Appropriate attire: long sleeves and trousers or shorts with protective padding.

👉 The organization reserves the right to refuse entry to any participant whose equipment is not compliant.

Article 4 – Race Procedure

  • The competition takes place in the form of individual timed downhill.
  • Each participant performs one or two rounds (according to organization).
  • A route recognition is planned before the race.
  • The track is reserved exclusively for the event during the rounds.
  • The ranking is based on the best time achieved.
  • Departures will be staggered.

Article 5 – Security

  • Wearing a helmet is mandatory throughout the entire course.
  • Participants must respect the markings as well as the instructions of the organization and the marshals.
  • Any dangerous or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in a a sanction that could go as far as disqualification.

Article 6 - Liability

  • Each participant takes part in the competition under his own responsibility.
  • A liability insurance is obligatory.
  • The organization declines all responsibility in the event of loss, theft or damage to equipment.

Article 7 – Weather Conditions

  • The organization reserves the right to modify, interrupt or cancel the test in case of adverse weather conditions or conditions that endanger the participants.
