MapList

Laruns

From Pau follow the direction of Oloron by the road until the deviation of Gan. Turn left after Gan towards Laruns-Gourette via the D934. Go straight on Rébénacq then Louvie-Juzon and reach the town center of Laruns: parking in the square near the tourist office.

Starting point

1

Eaux-Bonnes

In Laruns, from the car park near the station, take the street indicated

2

Pass ramp

The slope is briefly steeper to go around the public garden (one way) and take advantage of the short descent before turning right towards Gourette. As soon as you leave the village, the overview of the regular 8% slopes is a must before the short respite of the bend to the right of the Iscoo bridge then the next bend to the left, almost flat. Recover well on the last easy hectometres of the pass. Here is the Col Ramp! : 300 m at 13% followed on leaving the woods for 2,5 km fairly regular at 8,5/9%.
3

gourmet

A slight flat before the Goua bridge and its bend to the right allows you to relaunch to cross the next 3,5 km at 8,5% by describing the 3 bends leading under avalanche barriers and with a nice view of the Valentin waterfall at Gourette resort, nestled at the foot of the Ger and Médaa peaks.

4

Check-in

You are going to describe on the left the famous lace of Gourette which marks an accentuation of the slope but always in the regularity at 9% until the locality of the white crests which seemed so high from the Goua bridge! The sharp bend to the right after the hotel marks the end of the ascent (1,5 km at 9%) among the peaceful meadows of Puchéoux and often in the midst of sheep having seen past legendary cyclists; but always in a sustained effort to join the myth: beautiful reward for the efforts with the view to the west over the Laruns valley and to the northeast over the pastoral circus and the Ouzom valley.
